Wednesday's Woof - the South Cinco

(1.) CALENDARS - updated links!
Some folks said the calendars I shared yesterday would not post to your iCal calendars on your phones. Try these links instead, and let me know if you still can't add them and I'll keep trying to troubleshoot it!

(2.) BRAINTREE HIGH FOOTBALL

Tomorrow night the Braintree High School football team will host its first home game of the season against Wellesley. As the home opener for a new season, BHS is anticipating a large and enthusiastic crowd. We want tomorrow night's game, and all games, to be an opportunity for the Braintree community to come together to safely and professionally support its teams.

This is a reminder for all students who attend that all of the behavioral expectations listed in the school's Handbook apply at Braintree High School sporting events as well. In addition, the MIAA recently shared its Sportsmanship Expectations for the upcoming school year. Please review those. Here are a few additional reminders:
  • All spectators are prohibited from entering the track area and playing surface at all times.
  • No student entry after 6:30PM
  • Backpacks and outside food/drinks are prohibited
  • All purses, fanny packs, etc. are subject to search
  • There is no re-entry
Kick off is at 6:00pm. We look forward to seeing the entire community come out to support and celebrate our student athletes. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students and seniors. Tickets can be purchased through GoFan here.

(3.) SOUTH SOCCER
Soccer tryouts start today. Add the schedule to your calendar today!
(4.) CROWDSOURCING SUPPLIES
Do you have any basketballs, soccer balls, volleyballs, or jump ropes in good condition gathering dust in your home or garage? Drop them off at South for use at recess! We have new equipment on order, but in the meantime many of you might be happy to declutter. We cannot accept footballs, tennis balls, or other games at this time. If you've got one of those giant nets to keep balls from rolling into the woods though, call me!
ALSO, do you have mounds of MAGNET TILES that haven't been touched in years, or even just a dozen or so? They are a Math teacher's dream, because they help visualize geometric shapes, fractions, and more. Plus, they make a great activity for indoor recess! MagnetTiles, LEGOs, and board games (with all the pieces) are all welcome donations.
