Bulldog Bulletin - Wear Braintree Blue on Monday

Many of you are aware that an East Middle School student was seriously injured in a car collision on Friday evening while riding his bicycle to a baseball field in town. At South, our hearts go out to the young man and his family, and we pray for his quick and thorough recovery. (I am aware that his name is out there in public, but the family has asked for privacy while they are dealing with their situation, so I will not include personal details in my message.) Tomorrow, Monday 6/15, Student Council's Spirit Week will start with a Braintree Blue Day as we rally positive wishes and hopes for this young man. Please wear BLUE attire and/or baseball gear to show support for your peer as he continues to receive medical care. I had been planning to send a message about riding bicycles, e-bikes, and e-scooters to and from school. I am including this information now, because it is important for each individual to do everything they can to keep themselves and others safe. South administr...

Three-fer Thursday from South! 5/22/2025

Three from South: (1.) Tomorrow--Friday, 5/23--South will host our annual Memorial Day Assembly starting at 1:00 PM. 8th graders have been working hard to prepare their Veterans Projects and a group will present them while our entire school honors local veterans and the fallen heroes of our Armed Services.  Students are encouraged to  wear red, white & blue  to show your patriotic spirit for our veterans and honored guests.  There will be  no student dismissals after 1pm , as it is too disruptive to the memorial assembly.  This year's assembly will be held in the large Gym due to the nor'easter, but guests are still welcome! If you would like to attend the assembly, please enter through the Main Entrance to get a visitors sticker and then proceed down to the Gym. Mark your calendars! All 8th grade Veterans Projects will be on display in the Media Center on Friday, 6/6, for the public to view and explore our students' research. If you're looking for an e...

Three-fer Thursday

Watch the  Bulldog Buzz  morning announcements for  Thursday, 12/19/2024 1. Last Friday, 12/13, was the midpoint for Term 2. Teachers have been updating grades all week and by the end of school tomorrow, all grades in Aspen will be up-to-date as of 12/13 at least. If your child's average isn't where you want it to be, they should make time to stay after with the teacher after school to get extra help or make up any missing work. Avoid unwanted surprises on the Term 2 report cards in early February! 2. Tomorrow is the final day of our Student Council Spirit Week:  Ugly Sweater Day!  Even if you don't have an "ugly sweater" just deck yourself out in the gaudiest, cheesiest holiday gear you can gather! This is for a good cause; StuCo is accepting all donations to benefit Bulldog families in need. If everyone gave $1, we'd have nearly $750 to distribute among our neighbors. If everyone gave $5, we'd have almost $4,000 to share with friends this holiday seaso...

Wednesday Woof from South Bulldogs!

Springtime in a middle school is an exciting period full of field trips & culminating projects. Between celebrations & state testing, student schedules get tinkered with and tweaked on a seemingly nonstop basis. Although the end of the school year is looming in everyone's mind--and especially on the sunny, hot days-- we still have over 10% of the school year left.  Please make every effort to arrive at school on time in the morning  by 8:02 , to schedule appointments outside of school hours, and to avoid early dismissals from school. Beyond teachers' academic goals for their classes and the social growth events that make lifelong memories for our kids, it reinforces to good habits to be on time and present at school throughout the day.  If you do have to report an absence ,  please email the school nurses or call the Main Office to let us know.  A medical note is required for an absence to be excused and a provider's office will give you that at the time...

Three from South - 12/18/2023

Greetings on a blustery Monday morning! Spirit Week & Charity This week is Spirit Week at South, thanks to our Student Council who came up with the attached daily themes.  Friday is Ugly Sweater Day , a long-standing tradition among the South faculty where staff members would annually select a cause to support and then bring in donations in exchange for a "casual day." In the past decade, professional casual attire has become the norm for staff but the festive tradition of giving has carried on and we continue to collect for a local charity while sporting our gaudy gear.  For the past few years, Student Council has adopted the tradition for a schoolwide Ugly Sweater Day and all members of the community are encouraged to dress up (or, dress down, as it were) and donate. This year's charity is  Marisa's Mission , a local charity that raises funds to provide direct support to families dealing with medical hardship, to provide resources beyond the medical bills for fa...

There will be an informational night for adult caregivers in the early fall. Don't forget:   our online Scholastic Book Fair is open through 6/12!
