South's Week Ahead

Happy Diwali to all our Bulldog families observing the 5-day Festival of Light!  Diwali is a celebration of the victory of light over darkness; good vanquishing evil; and peace, compassion, hope, and the light of learning. It's a joyous time for family and community, and we wish everyone a wonderful Diwali and prosperity in the coming year! Early Release on Wednesday, 10/26.  Middle school dismissal is 11:45 AM. If you would like to order a bag lunch from our cafeteria, free of charge, please order in advance  by clicking here . Lunch orders can be picked up in the Main Office as students leave for the day. Breakfast is served as usual on early dismissal days; they are also offered free this year. Bulldog Bulletin - Monday, October 17

PTO meets tomorrow night in the South cafeteria, 7-8 PM. Unity Day is Wednesday:  all students should  wear ORANGE  to stand up against bullying. OFM is Friday:  send in final donations this week to homeroom!  South's Student Council challenges each grade to the  Color Wars  on OFM Day this Friday!   Grade 6 wears RED ,  grade 7 wears PURPLE ,  grade 8 wears BLUE . Let's see your school spirit! Looking for ways to support your child's teachers?   Send donations to the Main Office of  Kleenex or other facial tissues.  It's been a long early fall with allergies and respiratory infections already, not to mention the emotional rollercoaster of adolescence... as our School Psychologist says, "It's middle school: crying happens"! South Cinco - Thursday, 10/13

(1.)  BASHY and the Partnership are bringing "Taylor's Message" to Braintree High  tonight  at 6:30pm-8:00.   I  highly  recommend parents make time to come hear this very impactful story as you prepare for your kids' move through middle school and into the real pressures and challenges of teenagerhood and high school. (Older/mature students may be prepared to attend, but it's not recommended for most middle school students due to the content, which can be very emotional. High school aged kids are welcome to join adults.)  All caring adults are invited!  If you sign in and let them know you've got a middle school aged child at home, you'll be able to pick up a homework pass for your Braintree middle schooler... that should sweeten the pot a bit!  Please,  tell your neighbors, friends from other towns or private schools: this message should be heard by everyone who knows and loves a teenager or preteen. (2.)  SOUTH PTO   Kickoff meeting was earlier this mon
