Bulldog Bulletin - 1/17/2023

I hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. It was nice to have an extra day to let the snow work itself out, without having to worry about be out in the predawn gloom! The holiday is observed on Dr. King's birthday, a good opportunity to remember that--although he is often idealized in the stories we tell--he was a son, a husband, a father, and a friend  first . From this humble man arose an inspiration to adopt nonviolent methods and appeal to people's  morality  in demanding a change, rather than using force. Dr. King shined a light on the unequal treatment of people of color and spoke about the dangers of inequality regardless of race. He saw the poor families across this country struggling to stay afloat and get ahead while others made decisions that would impact other folk but not themselves, and he insisted that our Founders wanted more for us as Americans.
