  (1.) The June PTO meeting is tonight, Tuesday, 6/9, at 7:00 PM in the South Media Center (2.) Late Bus service ends at South this week. Wednesday, 6/10, will be the last day students can ride the Late Bus home. If you need to stay after, please be sure to arrange for a ride home with a friend or family member. (3.) This Thursday, 6/11, is an early dismissal day for teachers' professional development. Dismissal is at 11:45 AM and there will be no lunch served in the Cafeteria. If you would like a complimentary lunch, please order a Grab-N-Go bagged lunch, and remember to pick it up in the Main Office at the end of the day. All students must leave school property at dismissal and may not stay on any Braintree School property after dismissal. Please plan accordingly!  (4.) FREE WEBINAR FOR PARENTS Next Wednesday, 10/15 at 12pm, McLean Hospital is offering a free, online webinar,  "Helping Kids Thrive Mentally and Emotionally: A Guide for Parents" . Braintree SEPAC  SEPAC hosts its kickoff meeting this Wednesday evening, 7pm, at Thayer Public Library on the 3rd floor. All are welcome! SEPAC is a great resource to ask questions about student support, special education services, and what is available in the community for all students. The kickoff meeting is a perfect opportunity to share what you would like to know more about and help steer the programming for the year! This Thursday is our first Early Dismissal Day of the new school year. Middle schools dismiss at 11:45 AM. We follow a shortened-block schedule, so students should plan on seeing every class for a shorter period of time than usual. Lunch is not served in school on early dismissal days, but breakfast is still available free of charge. With the first full week back in school under our belts, and almost halfway through the second cycle of our rotating school schedule, it almost feels like we never had a summer vacation. Everyone is getting settled into the routine of new classes, new teachers, and new rules and expectations. With each week, we'll be getting more and more into the flow of the normal school year. Keep your eye out for extracurricular activities and clubs you may want to join! BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT Next  Thursday, 9/18 , South will open our doors for  Back to School Night  from  6:30-8:00 PM . Parents, guardians, and all adult caregivers are invited to come to the school to meet your child(ren)'s teachers and learn about the classes and curriculum.   Many of us were slow getting to South today, after returning late on Saturday night from the annual 8th grade Washington DC trip. It was a great trip! Thank you to Mrs. Norris and Mrs. Clark who coordinated the trip, to all the teachers who chaperoned overnight for 4 days, and to the students who represented South well! (1.)
