Bulldog's Woof - Tuesday, 12/20

(1.) Tomorrow we'll get ready for the nor'easter bearing down: coax the warm air northward to keep the snow at bay with your  S'Wintery Mix  outfits for Wednesday this Spirit Week! Let's see your creative Summer/Winter mash-ups! Thanks to South Student Council for keeping us all merry and bright this week. (2.) Thank you to all the families who have been plying the staff with treats this week! There was a long-standing tradition at South of students & their adult caregivers delivering baked goods to the Teachers Room all throughout the last week before the December Break. After a few years of pandemic-driven hiatus from communal food, it means so much to walk past the Teachers Room and hear the lively conversation and laughter of our Bulldog staff savoring the thoughtfulness of your gestures of appreciation. Please don't tell our cardiologists, dieticians, or significant others about the sheer quantity of sugar and complex carbohydrates, but thank you all! (3.)

South Cinco - Monday, 12/19

(1.) South's Student Council is hosting Spirit Week all week. Today's  Long Winter's Nap  had outstanding participation from all grades! We can't wait to see the creative outfits as the week goes on. (2.) Homework Club will not meet on Wednesday or Thursday this week. Students can stay after with a teacher, and there will be a Late Bus. (3.) Friday was the Midterm for Term 2. Teachers will be getting grades up to date this week, so students need to speak to their teacher directly about any missing work, or to ask about retakes or makeups.  If you redo an assignment or hand in an assignment after the Due Date,  you must tell/email your teacher  to let them know!  Teachers will not randomly check to see if anyone turned in late work to be graded. (4.) Our Choral Concerts are being held tonight and tomorrow. A few reminders: Doors open at 6:30pm and the concerts start at 7:00. We always fill the Auditorium, so show up early if you want to choose your seats. Please fill in

Wednesday Woof from the South Bulldogs

SAFETY DRILL South Middle School conducted a Lockdown Drill this morning, in accordance with the Braintree Public Schools’ districtwide procedures for lockdowns and other security measures. These drills are carried out in order to practice our procedures for keeping the students and staff safe and secure in the event of a dangerous incident at school. South’s staff introduces security procedures with all students at the beginning of each school year, and then we review these procedures periodically so that students will know what to do in the event of a security announcement. Today’s drill lasted approximately 10 minutes while school staff and Braintree Police checked that the classrooms and school facility were secure. After that time, classrooms were unlocked and we returned to the regular schedule.   If you have any questions or concerns relating to this drill, please do not hesitate to contact the school at (781) 380-0160. We remain ever grateful for the support of the Braintree P
