Bulldog Bulletin - 3/27/2026

TERM 3 END Term 3 ends on April 9. Teachers may close grades before or after that date, so pay attention to classroom announcements or ask the teacher directly if there are questions about which term an assignment or test will fall under. Check Aspen to ensure your grades are where you expect them to be and ask your teacher about any missing work or makeup work needed.  If you think you're all set,  double check   to be sure! ST. JUDE CHILDREN'S RESEARCH HOSPITAL - PAJAMA DAY Student Council would like to thank everyone who donated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. South raised over $2,000 in this year's fundraiser!  Donations will still be accepted online , or students can bring in cash or checks on Monday. Shout out to Allie R., Reese W., Quinn L., and Aurora R. who organized their own neighborhood bake sale yesterday and raised $305 for St. Jude's! South Cinco - Monday, 3/9/2026

Here are 5 things to think about as we start the week!  (1.) South PTO meets this Wednesday evening at 7pm in the South library media center. Please see attached agenda. (2.) The Student Council is helping to raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital for this year's annual PJ Day! This will be South's 3rd year raising money through a Pajama Day for this amazing cause. It was a huge success last year, raising over $2,000! The PJ Day will be Friday, March 27.  We are asking that if students would like to wear their PJ's, to bring in a suggested donation of $1-5 anytime from now until 3/27. We will be collecting money by grade to see which grade can donate the most! There is also an option to donate online. Please put your child's name and grade when you donate.  Link:   https://fundraising.stjude.org/site/TR?px=9160989&fr_id=162728&pg=personal (3.)   Tickets are now on sale for the three performances of our annual  South on Stage ...

Bulldog Bulletin - Eclipse Edition!

Students will all be receiving a pair of solar eclipse glasses at the end of the day, thanks to your South PTO. We will share information about the solar eclipse with students, as well as safety information. See more information below, and  feel free to watch this introductory video  to better understand what's going on! From the K-12 Director of Science: A solar eclipse will occur today, Monday, April 8th, and Massachusetts is in the path of the eclipse. Although Braintree will not view 100% coverage to see totality, it will have about 92% coverage at peak.  The eclipse will begin to be visible around 2:15pm, peak around 3:30pm, and end around 4:40pm.  This is exciting but it is also important to make sure everyone is  safely  viewing the eclipse if they choose to do so. Specific solar eclipse glasses must be worn to protect one’s vision throughout the duration of the eclipse.  Thanks to additional funding from several school PTOs, the science ...

Bulldog Bulletin - 1/17/2023

I hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. It was nice to have an extra day to let the snow work itself out, without having to worry about be out in the predawn gloom! The holiday is observed on Dr. King's birthday, a good opportunity to remember that--although he is often idealized in the stories we tell--he was a son, a husband, a father, and a friend  first . From this humble man arose an inspiration to adopt nonviolent methods and appeal to people's  morality  in demanding a change, rather than using force. Dr. King shined a light on the unequal treatment of people of color and spoke about the dangers of inequality regardless of race. He saw the poor families across this country struggling to stay afloat and get ahead while others made decisions that would impact other folk but not themselves, and he insisted that our Founders wanted more for us as Americans. At South, we teach our students to develop a voice and a vision so they are ...
