  South Middle School Ski Trips 2025 South Middle School will be hosting two ski trips to Pat’s Peak in New Hampshire on  Saturday,   January 18th and Saturday, February 1st . This is a great mountain for beginners or advanced skiers and snowboarders. The trip will be open to grades 6-8, and spots will be reserved on a first-come first-served basis. You can sign up for one trip or both weekends. Registration packets are available for students in Room 2058 and the Main Office. January is always a busy time in the life of a middle school. It's a long month and everyone's spending more time indoors, so teachers find they can really get into a lot of material in these weeks. It's important to stay healthy and try to stay caught up on all classwork so nobody falls behind! To that end, we're hearing a lot of sniffles and coughs in classrooms and teachers are desperate for supplies for healthy classrooms.  (1.)  Please consider sending your child in with a box of tissues for the classroom. Today is Midterm for Term 3.  Teachers will be grading materials and updating midterm averages over the next week. Please check Aspen and Google Classroom now to see if anything is missing, or if there are any low grades that are eligible for retakes, and your child should make plans with their teacher to stay after if necessary. Class averages will be up-to-date as of midterm by next Wednesday, 3/15. 8th Graders' Course Selection Sheets for Grade 9 are due Friday!  Thank you to everyone who has already returned your yellow "course requests" sheet that was mailed home. If you need a new copy, please come to the Main Office to get a print out.
