Ways to Support South

With the holiday season upon us, there are several ways you can support South Middle School! 1.     If you use Amazon.com for any online shopping, please consider clicking through a South link.   You will be directed to the regular Amazon site , but we will get a credit for referring you.   The link is also available on the school website. 2.     Benefit Mobile is a smartphone app that lets you share proceeds with a non-profit of your choice.   When you are out shopping and go to the register, open the app and see if that store participates.   If so, you can purchase a digital “gift card” for the price of whatever you’re buying and when the cashier rings it up, South gets a percentage of the cost.   It sounds complex, but I put it my phone and it is very easy! ·          For example, I went to Home Depot and purchased $74.98 worth of stuff. Woof - 11 October 2019

Good evening, We started this past week with Grade 6 Team Days.   Students enjoyed doing STEM activities at Gillette Stadium and doing team-building activities around the campus here at South!   Next week, 8 th grade starts off with a trip to the Freedom Trail in Boston! UPCOMING EVENTS ·          Monday, 10/14 – NO SCHOOL – Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples Day ·          Tuesday, 10/15 – Gr.8 field trip to Boston ·          Wednesday, 10/16, 6:00-8:00pm – Community Lecture @ Boston Children’s Hospital: IEP: Understanding Your Child’s Basic Rights (Folkman Auditorium, Enders Building) ·          Friday, 10/18 – Wear Red for Dyslexia Awareness! ·          Monday, 10/21 – first meeting of Yearbook Club!   All are welcome: room 109! ·          Tuesday, 10/22, 7:00pm – PTO meeting (South LMC) ·          Wednesday, 10/23 – Early Release Day – 11:45am dismissal o    Gr. 8 assembly: Blue Hills Regional Technical High School o    3:00-5:30pm – Parent-Teache

Woof - 12 September 2019

We have completed one full cycle of the new school year, and find ourselves back on “day 1” again! 7 th  and 8 th  graders are settling into their new routines and 6 th  graders are gaining confidence every day as they get more familiar with their new “home” for the next 3 years, as are our newly transferred students. Teachers are making steady progress getting to know their new students and starting to build the routines that will keep the classroom moving along through the remaining 29 cycles of this school year.
