Two-fer Tuesday - South Gear Starting Up!

South PTO met last week and discussed the first schoolwide event of the year: Unity Day! On Wednesday, October 21, all students and staff are invited to wear orange to show up against bullying. The Pacer Center (pacer.org) started Unity Day many years ago to open up a conversation about how to effectively stand up against bullying. At South, we work with students to develop the tools to stand up for what they know is right and to stand next to anyone who needs help. Don't be a Bystander; Be an Upstander! 


1.) South PTO wants to help you show off your Upstander Orange on 10/21. Purchase an orange Bulldogs Over Bullies t-shirt from Southside Tees and support South PTO at the same time! 
In order to get your t-shirt delivered to South in time for Unity Day, the deadline is tight! 
ALL ORDERS DUE BY MONDAY 10/5 @ 8 PM!!

2.) PTO is also offering laptop sleeves stamped with the South Bulldog logos for sale. Each laptop sleeve has a spot for students to write their name and contact info so your BYOD chromebook will stand out in the crowd, while keeping your charger and peripherals close at hand!

Three-fer Thursday from South! 5/22/2025

Three from South: (1.) Tomorrow--Friday, 5/23--South will host our annual Memorial Day Assembly starting at 1:00 PM. 8th graders have been working hard to prepare their Veterans Projects and a group will present them while our entire school honors local veterans and the fallen heroes of our Armed Services.  Students are encouraged to  wear red, white & blue  to show your patriotic spirit for our veterans and honored guests.  There will be  no student dismissals after 1pm , as it is too disruptive to the memorial assembly.  This year's assembly will be held in the large Gym due to the nor'easter, but guests are still welcome! If you would like to attend the assembly, please enter through the Main Entrance to get a visitors sticker and then proceed down to the Gym. Mark your calendars! Trivia Night Woof - 4/28

  (1.) 7th grade Earth models adorn our hallways year-round! (2.) We're looking forward to the return of Trivia Night at South this evening! For those who have signed up, please  arrive at 6:00pm.  Trivia Night is expected to be  over at 8:15pm  (a slight adjustment from the previously-mentioned 8:45) for anyone carpooling.  Wear costumes and bring your vast knowledge!    With the holiday season upon us, there are several ways  you can support South Middle School South is always looking for fundraising opportunities that allow folks to shop as you normally would  and  support South, earning commissions at no cost to you , our community of supporters. With the holiday shopping season upon, there are some easy ways to benefit the school without much additional hassle! Box Tops for Education Purchasing a lot of groceries for the upcoming feast? Scan your receipts to see if any qualify for Box Tops! The Box Tops program no longer requires you to clip and collect the actual, paper box tops. Instead, you can  download the app on your cellphone  and scan your receipt after any grocery shopping trip. I've also found it's worth scanning my receipt after a trip to most pharmacies and "big box" department stores, just in case!
