Construction update: The construction crews started pouring concrete foundations for the new school building this week. It's remarkable how much progress they're making! Blasting slowed down at the end of this week and they anticipate blasting will be fully completed next week. This is welcome news to those of us who startle every time there's a rumble! Shoutout to the crews from Bacon Construction, who run a street sweeper through our driveway a couple of times each week and clean up the mud tracks from our site onto Peach St. We appreciate their extra care in keeping our school and neighborhood clean!
Students of the Term: At the end of each term, we ask teachers to look through their rosters and take a moment to consider which students make a special effort every day. This doesn't mean the kids who just always get good grades, but it's those who really care about their learning and put an extra touch into their work. Moreover, it's the students who contribute to the climate in their classes and at South generally, who make South a better place for their classmates and for all of us. These students can be nominated by a teacher or a team to be Student of the Term. They truly capture the Bulldog spirit!

Work Hard, Play Hard! Several South Bulldogs are scheduled to represent Massachusetts this weekend for Braintree Youth Hockey at the Regional tournament after winning the Massachusetts State Hockey Tournament a couple of weeks ago. We are so proud of these kids! Good luck!
Science Fun Fact: Sunday is the Vernal Equinox for the Northern Hemisphere, one of two days of the year when the entire Earth experiences 12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of darkness. And, it's the first day of Spring in the Northern Hemisphere. We're ready!
Have a great weekend!
