St. Patrick's Woof - Thursday 3/17

 Happy St. Patrick's Day, South!

Today, all students received paper copies of the South PTO Calendar Raffle materials in homeroom. We hope every student will be able to sell 2 sheets of tickets--12 chances to win! Each ticket earns a chance to win every school day in April, and the student who sold the winning ticket will also win a prize. There's a grand prize waiting for the student who sells the most tickets, too! Thank you for supporting South and our PTO!
Futsal is back at South! Beginning March 29th, we will hold an 8-week round-robin tournament of indoor soccer/futsal every Tuesday after school. Form a team of 5 players: 1 goalie, 3 on the "field", and 1 sub. Sign-ups are on a first-come, first-served basis; as soon as 8 complete teams have submitted their paperwork, registration will close.

Chag Purim Sameach to all our Jewish Bulldogs - Happy Purim! Purim is a celebration of the Jews' liberation from Persian King Haman, and it is a day of joyous feasting with friends & family in the Jewish tradition. We hope it has been a lovely day!

Three-fer Thursday from South! 5/22/2025

Three from South: (1.) Tomorrow--Friday, 5/23--South will host our annual Memorial Day Assembly starting at 1:00 PM. 8th graders have been working hard to prepare their Veterans Projects and a group will present them while our entire school honors local veterans and the fallen heroes of our Armed Services.  Students are encouraged to  wear red, white & blue  to show your patriotic spirit for our veterans and honored guests.  There will be  no student dismissals after 1pm , as it is too disruptive to the memorial assembly.  This year's assembly will be held in the large Gym due to the nor'easter, but guests are still welcome! If you would like to attend the assembly, please enter through the Main Entrance to get a visitors sticker and then proceed down to the Gym. Mark your calendars! Bulldog Bulletin - 6/3/2025

Congratulations to all the students that participated in the Trills and Thrills music festival this past Friday - your hard work and effort paid off! Your playing and love for music impressed one of the adjudicators so much that he wrote an email to our superintendent letting him know how much he appreciated South Middle School’s music program!  7th & 8th grade orchestra won gold and the 7th & 8th grade Band and Concert Choir both earned silver.  This Thursday, 6/5, is the last day for Late Bus this school year. Students can still stay after for extra help, but you’ll need to arrange for a ride home or plan to walk! Homework Lab also ends this Thursday, so if you plan to stay after, you’ll need to make plans with one of your teachers. Trivia Night Woof - 4/28

  (1.) 7th grade Earth models adorn our hallways year-round! (2.) We're looking forward to the return of Trivia Night at South this evening! For those who have signed up, please  arrive at 6:00pm.  Trivia Night is expected to be  over at 8:15pm  (a slight adjustment from the previously-mentioned 8:45) for anyone carpooling.  Wear costumes and bring your vast knowledge! (3.)  The next PTO meeting will be on Tuesday, 5/3, at 7:00 PM. Agenda to follow. (4.)  Check out the April drone footage showing progress of the construction of the new South Middle School!
