This Thursday is our first Early Dismissal Day of the new school year. Middle schools dismiss at 11:45 AM. We follow a shortened-block schedule, so students should plan on seeing every class for a shorter period of time than usual. Lunch is not served in school on early dismissal days, but breakfast is still available free of charge. A complimentary school lunch can be ordered to go; these "Grab & Go" lunches must be ordered in advance at the Food Services website--use this link!--and your child needs to pick up their lunch in the Main Office on their way out at dismissal.
SCHOOL PHOTOS
Don't forget to pre-order your school photos online! Pre-ordering closes at 7:00 AM tomorrow, so this is your last chance to get the best prices on photo packages! Go to www.HaywardPhotography.com and enter school code SMSF25 to order. Photo retakes will be scheduled later this fall if you missed picture day or are unsatisfied with your portrait.

Drop your kids off at 74 Pond St and go out for a relaxing weekend dinner while they hang out with their friends. There are video games, board games, and table games available. Open to all kids from 5th-12th grade!

AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES
- Extracurricular clubs & activities are heating up! Join a club or reach out to your teacher if there's a club you'd like to see at South Middle School:
- Homework Lab is open every Monday-Thursday after school until 3:15 PM. No sign-up is required; drop in and be ready to work! HW Lab is staffed by South paras who know the classes and expectations of your teachers and can help you get answers to any questions on your schoolwork.
- Teachers have one afterschool day each week when students can stay after for extra help. Let them know if you plan to stay!
- Late bus is available to help regular bus riders get home if you stay after school. The late buses arrive between 3:15-3:30 daily, but they combine several bus routes to ensure everyone gets home safely, so it may take a little longer than usual to arrive back at your stop. Let the driver know if you have any questions!
