South Cinco - Tuesday, 6/9/2026

 (1.) The June PTO meeting is tonight, Tuesday, 6/9, at 7:00 PM in the South Media Center

(2.) Late Bus service ends at South this week. Wednesday, 6/10, will be the last day students can ride the Late Bus home. If you need to stay after, please be sure to arrange for a ride home with a friend or family member.

(3.) This Thursday, 6/11, is an early dismissal day for teachers' professional development. Dismissal is at 11:45 AM and there will be no lunch served in the Cafeteria. If you would like a complimentary lunch, please order a Grab-N-Go bagged lunch, and remember to pick it up in the Main Office at the end of the day. All students must leave school property at dismissal and may not stay on any Braintree School property after dismissal. Please plan accordingly! 

(4.) Reminder: South will celebrate our 8th graders' completion of middle school on Wednesday, 6/17, at 6:00 PM. We plan to hold the ceremony outdoors on the field beside the school. All guests should bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on. You may also choose to stand behind the seated guests' area or on the sides. Umbrellas and tents are not allowed to allow clear views for all guests. The "8th grade graduation" ceremony lasts about an hour. 
  • 8th grade students are invited to attend the PTO dinner-dance immediately after. Student pickup is at 8:30 PM.

(5.) South's Field Day will be held on Thursday, 6/18 during school. Teachers are planning activities indoors and outside throughout the day.

Three from South: (1.) Tomorrow--Friday, 5/23--South will host our annual Memorial Day Assembly starting at 1:00 PM. 8th graders have been working hard to prepare their Veterans Projects and a group will present them while our entire school honors local veterans and the fallen heroes of our Armed Services.  Students are encouraged to  wear red, white & blue  to show your patriotic spirit for our veterans and honored guests.  There will be  no student dismissals after 1pm , as it is too disruptive to the memorial assembly.  This year's assembly will be held in the large Gym due to the nor'easter, but guests are still welcome! If you would like to attend the assembly, please enter through the Main Entrance to get a visitors sticker and then proceed down to the Gym. Mark your calendars! Trivia Night Woof - 4/28

  (1.) 7th grade Earth models adorn our hallways year-round! (2.) We're looking forward to the return of Trivia Night at South this evening! For those who have signed up, please  arrive at 6:00pm.  Trivia Night is expected to be  over at 8:15pm  (a slight adjustment from the previously-mentioned 8:45) for anyone carpooling.  Wear costumes and bring your vast knowledge! "Build Up" to the beginning of Middle School!

  South Middle School Build-Up Grade 5 August 19 & 27, 2025 We are excited to show our newest 5th graders around South Middle School. The Build Up program is an optional orientation for our newest Bulldogs to get a "sneak peek" of what to expect at South Middle. Teachers will explain what a typical day looks like as a 5th grade student. Students will tour the building so they feel more comfortable, and they will learn about important middle school topics such as:  Class schedule Behavior expectations  Locks and lockers Clubs & activities Homework Guidance counselors Computers & BYOD (“Bring Your Own Device”) Lunch & recess School etiquette Organization This is a great way for our newest students to connect with South staff and their new classmates.
