School starts tomorrow at 8:02 AM and we are excited to see everyone's smiling faces in the morning! Everyone will find out their homeroom teacher tomorrow and we'll have an extended homeroom block to start the day, when you'll learn your schedule, new lock & locker assignment, and get your new student ID badge.
Best habits for a good school year:
- Set up a charging station and plan to store your chromebook there every night.
- Pro tip #1: leave your bookbag in the same spot, and you'll always know where your "school stuff" is!
- Pro tip #2: don't charge devices in your bedroom. They'll buzz all night and disturb your sleep!
- Pack your bookbag tonight with at least one notebook and a pen or pencil for school tomorrow.
- You can bring in more supplies, but teachers will update "what you need" tomorrow.
- 6th, 7th, & 8th graders will not be provided an Assignment Notebook Agenda. You may purchase one for $2 or you may use your own assignment notebook to keep track of assignments. 5th graders will receive an Agenda tomorrow to begin practicing the organizational strategies needed for middle school success!
- Set an alarm and go to bed early! Bus routes have been sent out to registered students. Walkers/riders/carpoolers: be ready early & beat the traffic! Doors open at 7:42 AM.
- Drivers: be patient & cautious in the driveway. You may not drop students off in neighboring streets. Plan ahead to avoid traffic so you don't feel the pressure to spoil someone else's day.
- Please note: There will be no late bus and afterschool activities for the first couple weeks of school. More information will follow.
All students will receive a Student ID Badge tomorrow. Students must keep this safe & secure. It will be used for bus riders and it will be utilized in other systems throughout the school year. If your ID is ever lost, you must report it to the Main Office immediately so we can get you a replacement and turn off the lost badge.
Parents/guardians/caregivers:
- The first South PTO meeting will be next Tuesday, 9/9, starting at 7pm. All are welcome and we hope to see you there!
- If you haven't read the Welcome Back message from a couple weeks ago, please take a few minutes to skim it!
