Earlier this winter, several 8th grade students decided to put their learning about the American Revolution in Social Studies classes to good use and entered an essay contest with the Daughters of the American Revolution. They answered the prompt: The Second Continental Congress met from May 10, 1775 - March 1, 1781, and included delegates from all 13 colonies. This Congress was instrumental in shaping what was to become the United States of America. Imagine that you are a delegate during 1775-1776. Which colony are you from and what will be important for you to accomplish for your colony? Congratulations to Maggie K, Janice Y, Hailey C, Crystal L, and Veronica C, who will all be honored by the Deborah Sampson Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution for their exceptional essays! And, further congratulations to Maggie, who was selected as our local chapter's winner of the essay contest and whose writing was submitted to be read at the state level along with each chapter's winner!
There are still a few spots left open for the South Ski Trip rescheduled to March 11th. If your skier/snowboarder is interested, please contact Mr. Boynton for more information.

- We will follow a shortened schedule (similar to an early release day) so students will see all of their regular Day 6 teachers and classes. Be sure to complete all your homework tonight for all your classes!
- Buses will be expected to pick up 2 hours later than your regular pick up time, however it is recommended to arrive at your bus stop 5 minutes earlier than usual so you won't miss it, and be prepared to wait a bit longer as road conditions may just as likely delay buses. (Be sure to thank your drivers for driving in all kinds of weather!)
Tell your friends to make sure their ParentSquare is set to alert them, as this is the primary way the Braintree School District issues updates!
