Bulldog Bulletin - Tuesday 9/23

This Thursday is our first Early Dismissal Day of the new school year. Middle schools dismiss at 11:45 AM. A complimentary school lunch can be ordered to go; these "Grab & Go" lunches must be ordered in advance at the Food Services website-- use this link! --and your child needs to pick up their lunch in the Main Office on their way out at dismissal.  SCHOOL PHOTOS Don't forget to pre-order your school photos online! Neighbors and traffic at South

Folks have been asking about the traffic restrictions around South this week. Please see the attached notification that went to area homes in the past few days. Specific information has been hard to come by, but thank goodness for the forgetfulness of whichever student left this behind on a table this morning! So, it's safe to expect traffic restrictions impacting our campus at least through the end of next week. There is always the possibility that filming will be extended. I will share any relevant updates as soon as I am able. TRAFFIC AT SOUTH In the meantime, we have established a good routine for morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up traffic. There is still a backup right at the time of arrival and dismissal, but the crossing guards are living up to their official title as traffic supervisors and moving vehicles speedily and safely on and off campus.  Please be patient;  the traffic dissipates quickly and every driver has the same goals-- get in & out quickly and kee...

Bulldog Bulletin - South Middle School

With the first full week back in school under our belts, and almost halfway through the second cycle of our rotating school schedule, it almost feels like we never had a summer vacation. Everyone is getting settled into the routine of new classes, new teachers, and new rules and expectations. With each week, we'll be getting more and more into the flow of the normal school year. Keep your eye out for extracurricular activities and clubs you may want to join! BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT Next  Thursday, 9/18 , South will open our doors for  Back to School Night  from  6:30-8:00 PM . Parents, guardians, and all adult caregivers are invited to come to the school to meet your child(ren)'s teachers and learn about the classes and curriculum. This event is "open house" style, so caregivers can drop in to see teachers anytime throughout that hour-and-a-half window; you do not have scheduled times to see the teachers.  This event is not intended for students. Please print your ...

South Middle School starts tomorrow at 8:02 AM

School starts tomorrow at 8:02 AM and we are excited to see everyone's smiling faces in the morning! Everyone will find out their homeroom teacher tomorrow and we'll have an extended homeroom block to start the day, when you'll learn your schedule, new lock & locker assignment, and get your new student ID badge. Best habits for a good school year: Set up a charging station and plan to store your chromebook there every night.  Pro tip #1: leave your bookbag in the same spot, and you'll always know where your "school stuff" is!  Pro tip #2: don't charge devices in your bedroom. They'll buzz all night and disturb your sleep! Pack your bookbag tonight with at least one notebook and a pen or pencil for school tomorrow.  You can bring in more supplies, but teachers will update "what you need" tomorrow. 6th, 7th, & 8th graders will  not  be provided an Assignment Notebook Agenda. You may purchase one for $2 or you may use your own assignment...

Welcome to the 2025-2026 School Year at South!

We are excited to welcome all our South Bulldogs back to school in just two weeks! Our teachers have been busily preparing classrooms and all the materials needed for a smooth opening to the school year. Our custodians have worked hard over the past two months to scrub the building clean "from stem to stern" and are putting the final polish on everything to be sparkling on the first day. We can't wait to see all our returning students on 9/3 and to welcome all our new students! Arrival to School & End-of-Day Dismissal The school doors open at 7:42 AM daily. Students can gather in the Gymnasium starting at that time and proceed to homeroom at 7:52 AM. Homeroom starts at 8:02 AM every day, when the morning announcements begin. Students arriving after 8:02 are tardy to school and must sign in at the front office. Bus routes will be made available for all students who have registered for a bus.  You can check eligibility on the BPS website and contact Transportation about...
