This Two-fer Tuesday, South Middle brings you one BIG celebration, and something to spice up your day tomorrow!

FOND FAREWELL
Today, we congratulate Mrs. Sullivan, who is retiring from teaching after a long career in the Braintree Public Schools. Anyone who has had Mrs. Sullivan as your teacher, or as your child's teacher--or as a colleague!--knows the commitment and passion she brings to helping each child in her class grow over the course of the school year. She always keeps in mind the individual in every child and considers what they will need to be successful in life. Recognizing her care and concern for them, along with her high expectations to bring out their best, Mrs. Sullivan's students dedicated a display board in her honor during Teacher Appreciation Week.

Exemplifying her humble service to her students, she is departing without any fanfare today, ending the school year a bit earlier than planned to take care of some medical necessities. All the South Bulldogs are wishing Mrs. Traci Sullivan all the best for a speedy recovery and the long, healthy retirement she deserves after her years of dedicated service to the children of Braintree.

Tomorrow = dinner handled AND supporting South Middle School PTO, which honestly feels like the kind of multitasking we deserve. Here’s your mission, should you choose to accept it:
Send the attached flier to your kids to tell their friends in their preferred native language… (aka Snapchat). Send it off. Share it. Spread the word like middle school gossip.
Because if they can send streaks, random forehead pics, and blurry ceiling photos… they can absolutely help support their school too.

Grab some hot chicken, feed the family, skip cooking, and let Dave’s do the heavy lifting while South PTO gets 20%. That’s what we call parenting smarter, not harder.

Three-fer Thursday from South! 5/22/2025

Three from South: (1.) Tomorrow--Friday, 5/23--South will host our annual Memorial Day Assembly starting at 1:00 PM. 8th graders have been working hard to prepare their Veterans Projects and a group will present them while our entire school honors local veterans and the fallen heroes of our Armed Services. Students are encouraged to wear red, white & blue to show your patriotic spirit for our veterans and honored guests. There will be no student dismissals after 1pm , as it is too disruptive to the memorial assembly. This year's assembly will be held in the large Gym due to the nor'easter, but guests are still welcome! If you would like to attend the assembly, please enter through the Main Entrance to get a visitors sticker and then proceed down to the Gym. Mark your calendars! Trivia Night Woof - 4/28

(1.) 7th grade Earth models adorn our hallways year-round! (2.) We're looking forward to the return of Trivia Night at South this evening! For those who have signed up, please arrive at 6:00pm. Trivia Night is expected to be over at 8:15pm (a slight adjustment from the previously-mentioned 8:45) for anyone carpooling. Wear costumes and bring your vast knowledge! (3.) Bulldog Bulletin - 6/3/2025

Congratulations to all the students that participated in the Trills and Thrills music festival this past Friday - your hard work and effort paid off! Your playing and love for music impressed one of the adjudicators so much that he wrote an email to our superintendent letting him know how much he appreciated South Middle School’s music program! 7th & 8th grade orchestra won gold and the 7th & 8th grade Band and Concert Choir both earned silver. This Thursday, 6/5, is the last day for Late Bus this school year. Students can still stay after for extra help, but you’ll need to arrange for a ride home or plan to walk! Homework Lab also ends this Thursday, so if you plan to stay after, you’ll need to make plans with one of your teachers. Don't forget! Bus registration ends next Friday, 6/13.
