We're watching the weather to start off this week, but for now we're moving ahead with our plans.
South PTO will meet on Tuesday, 3/14, at 7pm in the South Media Center. See attached agenda. Come by to get updates on recent fundraisers and school events, to plan spring fundraisers such as the April Calendar Raffle, and to discuss plans for Teacher Appreciation Week in early May.
South's 8th Grade Science teachers are kicking off a new schoolwide project this month: March Mammal Madness! Learn about different species and make educated guesses about how they'll fare against one another. Brackets are due TONIGHT, so join the Google Classroom (pmgh2gc) and get those submitted if you haven't already! All grades are welcome to join in the fun.
Trivia Night will be held this Thursday evening, from 6:00-8:45pm. Contact Mr. Sturtevant with any last-minute registrations or other questions!
Braintree is excited to offer The Calculus Project to our rising 8th, 9th, and 10th grade students. If you'd like to find out more about the program, please contact our Director of Mathematics, Courtney Miller.
Separately from the traditional Calculus Project, Braintree is also piloting an online Math tutoring program with tutors vetted by the Calculus Project, open to any 7th and 8th grade students who averaged a B or C in Math through Term 2. If your child fits the bill and is interested in being part of this tutoring pilot, please fill out this online Interest Form. The deadline to fill out the form is March 15th, 2023 and not all applicants are guaranteed a spot. Please review the ParentSquare post last Friday from our Director of Mathematics, Courtney Miller, for more details, and contact her with any questions.
As a reminder, Monday, 3/13, is an Early Release Day for teacher professional development. Dismissal for middle school is 11:45am & we'll follow a shortened-block Day 3 schedule so students will see all their classes. Please pre-order a grab-and-go lunch if you are interested using this link: Lunch Order Form
