Some important dates & deadlines this week:

    • Students in all grades who live 1.5 miles from South are eligible for a bus, but need to register.

      • If you're in grade 7 or 8, there will be a $180 fee.

      • If you're in grade 5 or 6, the fee only applies if you live between 1.5-2.0 miles from South.

      • There is a family cap of $360.

      • Fees may be waived if you qualify for Free & Reduced Lunch fees.*

  3. South's Library/Media Center has stopped loaning out books for the school year. Please return any items that have been checked out ASAP, so we can organize the collection for our big move to the new building.**
  4. This Thursday, 6/8, will be the last day for Homework Club and Late Bus. Students can still make arrangements to stay after with a teacher, but will need to arrange for a ride home or plan to walk/bike.
  5. Our Annual South Spring Musical opens next Friday, 6/9! The cast & crew for Matilda! the Musical are in Tech Rehearsals all week, putting the finishing touches on the show and tying it all together. Contact Producer Ms. Proulx for a chance at the very few remaining tickets.

* With lunches being provided free of charge for the past few years, a number of eligible families may not have applied for Free or Reduced Lunch fees. Registering can provide access to a number of resources, so if you are eligible you may want to apply by clicking below.
** If you have overdue items--even if you find very old overdue items--please be aware we don't charge late fees. We'll appreciate any found items being returned at any time! We recently had about a dozen textbooks, library books, and English books returned by a parent who was back in town after moving out of Braintree during the pandemic shutdown. We were so grateful they'd thought of us, and it was a nice chance to catch up on their high schooler's latest progress! If you're ever cleaning house and find school belongings, bring it on by!

Of course, the faculty is always excited to welcome a new class of scholars every fall, but this year takes that sense of rebirth and limitless possibility to a whole new level!  As eager as we are to welcome students and families to the new building, it is not yet safe to open our doors to the public. The construction team is putting on the fi
